Quilts often have three layers, which are as follows:  The top layer, often known as the ornamental top, is the component of a traditional quilt that bears a design or piece of artwork. Cotton is the most common material used to construct it; however, other materials may also be used.

The center of the quilt, also known as the batting, is just a cushioned layer that is responsible for the warmth that the blanket provides. Cotton, wool, down, or feathers are the typical materials used to make batting. The bottom layer of the quilt is another sheet of cloth similar to the top layer

Stitching may be done by hand or by machine on modern quilts. The top layer and the stitching pattern collaborate to produce a wide variety of patterns and motifs. As an example, a stitch design with wavy lines that are offset against a cloth with straight lines. There are also a variety of sizes available for quilts. Quilts are multipurpose objects that may be used to not only keep you warm but also as a decorative element. They have a wide variety of applications, some of which are as follows: Coverings for the bed, Blankets used for tossing, Wall decorations, a framed piece of art, the heirlooms and presents of the family.

4.    How Is a Quilt Different from a Comforter?

The method of construction and intended usage distinguish a quilt from a comforter. Comforters serve as bed covers, as opposed to quilts, which may also serve as creative wall décor. A comforter’s top and bottom are both composed of only a single piece of cloth. Cotton, down, or other filling is used after the two sections are stitched together. Although some comforters utilize quilting methods to keep the filling even, these stitches are not meant to be attractive and do not transform a comforter into a quilt.
